Cement and Clinker
Clinker produced by early static kilns and occurs in the form of large pumice like lumps or nodules. In the manufacture of Portland cement, usually 3 millimetres (0.12 in) to 25 millimetres (0.98 in) in diameter and it is produced by sintering (fusing together without melting to the point of liquefaction) limestone and aluminous silicate materials such as clay during the cement kiln stage.
Clinker be exported from Iran in bulk of curse.
Cement is an adhesive material and a finely milled mineral powder, usually grey in color. The most important raw materials for the production of cement are limestone, clay, and marl. Mixed with water, cement serves as an adhesive to bind sand, gravel, and hard rock in concrete. Cement hardens both in the air and under water, and remains in its hardened state once reached.
Cement is usually available in the form of a homogeneous bulk dry good. It’s characteristics are standardized in order to ensure the required stability, reliability, and process ability in the application.
ements used in construction are usually inorganic, often lime or calcium silicate based, and can be characterized as either hydraulic or non-hydraulic.
Cement Non Hydraulic that does not set in wet conditions or under water & Hydraulic Cement (Portland Cement) set and become adhesive due to a chemical reaction between the dry ingredients and water. The chemical reaction results in mineral hydrates that are not very water-soluble and so are quite durable in water and safe from chemical attack.
Different types of Cements
- Portland Pozzolana (PPC)
- Rapid Hardening
- Extra Rapid Hardening
- Quick Setting
- Low Heat
- Sulfate Resisting
- Portland Slag
- High Alumina
Portland cement has good strength against sulfate attacks. It is suitable for place where soil and underground water is high in sulfate. Types 1 to 5 is produced at the present time.
The applications of Cement
It is very useful and very important civil engineering material. The most usages are buildings foundation, roads, bridges, pool decks, dams, mortar for plastering, roofs, stairs, water tank, drain, piping, piles, water proof floors and so on.
Cement packed is in bulk and 50 Kg bag.
